As part of my Partnership Manager role I was responsible for implementing a health and welfare campaign commissioned by the Health Education Board Scotland (HEBS), which ran animated health & welfare messages on the desktop of college PCs.
Once this was rolled out to most of Scotland’s colleges the sales team tried to implement a similar project in English colleges, but the progress was slow. Given my operational experience with the project I was asked to explore this with the sales team.
Through our due diligence we aligned these interactive health and welfare messages with the governments Every Child Matters agenda and configured the service so that the initiative;
- Supported Student Service Managers to promote the Every Child Matters (ECM), PSHE agenda.
- Tied in with Local Authority objectives ie Local Area Agreements & National Indicators
We then collaborated with early partners to refine the service. Through these early partnerships and employing traditional sales methods we grew the Youth Bytes community from conception to establishing partnerships with almost 200 colleges within a 3 year period.
